1Project Background

As demand grows for professional audio/video processing and streaming gear, a leading multimedia technology manufacturer launched a 2026 project for rack-mounted playback box enclosures. The housings had to protect processing modules, interface boards and cooling parts while running reliably in 24/7 commercial environments.

2Client Pain Points

The customer’s previous supplier struggled on two fronts: the slim 4.5 cm chassis flexed under heavy internal processing modules, and the dense array of audio, network, power and slot cutouts on the front panel rarely aligned with the boards. Ventilation was another weak point, with units reporting hot-spots under full load.

3Technical Challenges

A 435 mm wide enclosure only 45 mm deep has to hold up heavy processing hardware without sagging, while a full load of A/V and network connectors has to line up to the tenth of a millimeter. Cramped internal space also left little room for airflow, so keeping temperatures safe under 100 percent load was a real thermal-design problem.

4Our Custom Solution

We reinforced the chassis with integrated mounting studs and reinforcing brackets, raising rigidity by about 25 percent without adding weight. The front panel combines laser cutting and CNC punching with live positioning calibration, and a full-width honeycomb rear panel maximizes airflow while staying dust-resistant. First-article units were assembled with the customer’s hardware to confirm fit and signal integrity before mass production.
